Lerum chooses Humana Omsorg for elderly care
Humana Omsorg, part of the Humana Group, has been awarded a contract to operate the Hedegården elderly care home in Lerum. Humana Omsorg has until now been operating the Kavlagården elderly care home in Jönköping along with other elderly care facilities and LSS assisted living facilities in southern Sweden and the Stockholm area.
Humana Omsorg has been awarded a contract to operate the Hedegården elderly care home in Lerum. Hedegården has 54 apartments, of which 24 are for persons with dementia. The elderly care home also has its own kitchen, where all food served at the facility is prepared. Operations are currently run by the municipality, and start of operations for Humana is expected in early 2013.
“It is exciting and an honour to be entrusted with running the elderly care operation in Lerum,” comments Johan Åsbrink, President of Humana Omsorg. “Our good references played an important role in our bid and make me proud and happy. Our ambition is to always offer our customers the best quality of care and give them opportunities to influence their everyday lives.”
Humana Omsorg was judged to have submitted the overall best tender. An important factor behind Humana’s bid was the company’s good references from other care homes. The takeover will take place in close coordination with the municipality and the union representatives. Humana Omsorg will initiate its work by immediately informing the residents, their families and personnel, as soon as the contract award has taken force, which normally takes ten days.
“We want to give everyone an opportunity to meet the management at Humana Omsorg and explain how the takeover of the facilities at Hedegården will take place in a secure and respectful manner for everyone concerned.”
